A Descriptive Essay: A Descriptive Essay: Write an essay on ONE of the following tasks (180 – 200 words, no less than 180 and no more of 200): (1) Write a descriptive essay on a C-130 Hercules. (2) Write a descriptive essay on a Helicopter.
The C-130 is a transport plane that forms part of the army. It was manufactured by the year 1950 and it has worked for a lot of different countries such as Colombia or Argentina. Moreover, the first appearance of this incredible aircraft was in the United States and it amazed a lot of people.
The plane is composed of three main parts: nose, fuselage and tail.
The first part, the nose, is formed by the cockpit, where the pilot can control the instrumental panel, flight controls, rudder pedals, overhead panel and side consoles.
The second part and the most important is the fuselage, the plane’s body, where the wings and the landing gear are located. The wings have several parts which allow the plane to stay in the air and maintain flight over the sky. These parts are flaps, some ailerons and four turbine engines.
Finally, I’m going to talk about the tail, which is the heaviest part of this huge machine. If we look at the back part of a plane, we would be able to see the rudder, the vertical and horizontal stabilizer and, last but not least, the elevator.

Manufactured in the United States and with 66 years from its first flight, the C-130 Hércules continues in service in many different countries, including Spain. Its main task is to serve as a transport helicopter, which translates in being involved in search and rescue missions, scientifical investigations and fire fighting, among other missions it has accomplished.
Some of the main features it can be described for include four turboprops, high wings and the absence of skid, which many helicopters tend to present. Also, due to its versatility, the cowling was manufactured to be very resistant.
In order to accomplish risky flights, the C-130 includes an incredible stabilizer bar with a rotor blade that allows all kind of movements. Despite its longevity, it continues to adapt to changes presenting improvements such as a cockpit with a new system and a synchronized elevator.
So, to sum up, this helicopter has been known not only for its continued service in places like the “31 Wing” in Zaragoza, but also because of its capacity to adapt to the different types of missions and circumstances.
Mayherlin Armijos QuizhpeThe c 130 Hercules is a modern aircraft used in many countries as a very important part of their army. This plane was primarily designed to move big equipment and soldiers to far destinations.
Different from fighter planes, which are very small and reach sound speed, the c 130 has capacity for almost a hundred people and weighs more than 30.000 kg. This aircraft has some noted parts that make it different from other planes. It counts on two wings with huge turbine engines that propels it through the sky. The c 130 Hercules also has a huge door on his tail which is used by skydivers to jump and to throw equipment. Its cockpit has capacity for more than one pilot, so the flight is improved and more secure.
This plane has completed a lot of missions all over the world in the last century. The Spanish Air Force has been using it for almost 50 years and it has travelled to nearly all destinations with its army.
In conclusion, even though the c 130 has more than half century, it is still used around the world for a lot of different purposes which makes it feel as modern as its first day.

The Eurocopter EC120B “Colibri” is a single-engine helicopter manufactured by Eurocopter used for different purposes by many countries.
This helicopter is composed of 3 main parts. The rotor system consists of the rotor blade, which helps elevate the aircraft, and the rotor mast that holds the rotor blade. Secondly, we have the cockpit, cowling and skid. The “Colibri” has a spacious cockpit, which holds place for up to 5 passengers including the pilot. In the low part of the helicopter it is located the skid, a vital part that allows it to land on a wide range of surfaces. Finally, there is the tail, formed by the tail boom and the tail rotor.
The EC120B is a very light helicopter. This feature combined with the other
characteristics described before, make it a very useful plane for transport and
observation missions. It is not provided with any type of armament, so it
cannot be used for combat missions. In Spain, this helicopter is also used for
stunts and acrobatics by the “Patrulla Aspa” due to its aerodynamic design.
To conclude, the “Colibri” offers a wide range of a characteristics which make it a great
helicopter for both civilian and military missions.

One of the oldest large cargo planes that form part of the Spanish armament is called C-130, commonly known as Hercules. It was first manufactured in 1950 by the British and introduced in our Air Forces around 1970´s.
Nowadays, it is believed that all aircraft have the same structure and characteristics, however, planes are designed in order to be destined to do a certain purpose.
On these terms, Hercules is a turboprop engine plane, composed of the wings, which are attached to the fuselage, the cockpit behind its nose and the tail, which is located at the bottom and supports the vertical and horizontal stabilizers of the plane.
Despite the most typical facts, the C-130 is different from others as it is still being produced after being designed fifty years ago. For this reason, the prototype has been altered in some aspects due to being at the level of new aircraft which are constantly introducing design improvements.
To sum up, I would like to say that the experience and the amazing feelings that you may have while flying above the ground like that can only be reached by this incredible aircraft.
There are uncountables kinds of airplanes when they come about their power, shape, size or even about their wings configuration. In the same way, an airplane can be designed for many different porupuses. For instance, transport military or comercial aviation, transportation of passengers.
As far as transportation is concerned, the C-130 Hercules is one of the most cutting-edge fixed- wing aircraft nowdays. This aircraft was manufactured in USA and it is the most popular in the armed forces. Basically, inside the cockpit, located behind the nose, are around million tiny buttons of which each one does a different function. Furthermore, it’s where we control the aircraft. As every aircraft, the C-130 Hercules has wings. They have flaps which are used to increase lift and drag. As well as the aileron to change roll. On the other hand, the vertical and horizontal stabilizers are supported by the tail. To take off and land, the aircraft roll on the landing gear which is sitted beneath it. What it is more, the C- 130 Hercules has four turboprops which are more efficient for medium- sized transport.
All in all, controlling such airplane demand being focus and be able to struggle with unexpected situations.

The C-130 Hercules is an airplane designed in 1950 by an United Estates company called Lookhed Martin and it is still used by many armies from many different countries all over the world. Indeed the spanish army has six or seven units of this airplane. It is a medium-heavy transport airplane with four turboprops that make it fast. Its big cabin is full of bottoms due to the many functions this airplane has. This airplane can transport vehicles, materials to construct camps, food and health supplies and even paratroopers.
It is also used in operations related to drug dealing and for rescue missions due to the radars, sensors and cameras integrated in the airplane. So that makes the C-130 Hercules one of the most useful airplanes in the world, because it can do many different tasks deploying from many different countries. Its perfect landing gear let it take off from many surfaces like sand, soil, and even snow. It is operated by twenty or twenty one operators, those are pilots, cameramen, gunners, ingeniers…
About its characteristics, it can reach a maximum speed of 800 miles per hour, transport 21.000 kg, and fly without air-refuelling ay a medium speed for 10 hours. Its aerodynamic tail gives it stability.More over, this airplane can transport and drop bombs and carry machineguns.
All in all, this is a world wide loved airplane by all the aviation freaks and all the armies that use it because of its capabilities
The C130 Hercules is one of the most emblematic transport planes in the world being in almost all the armies around the world.
Besides all these external characteristics, the C130 Hercules also leaves you stunned on the inside. This plane is optimal for transport missions. The hold of the plane can carry all the troops you need and all the material required to carry out a mission successfully.

C-130 Hercules
This airplane has 4 turboprops, located in its two great wings, on them we can also observe its flaps and ailerons. At the front we discover the cockpick, where pilots are, and from there, they control all the instruments of the plane. At the tail we can find the rudder, the vertical and horizontal stabilizers and ,finally, the elevator. If it hadn’t any of these devices the C-130 couldn’t fly. Last but not least, under the fuselage we can observe the landing gear, without it the airplane could neither take off nor land.
Spanish Air Force has been flying these type of planes since 1970s. Nowadays, “Hercules” is operated by the “Ala 31” that has its main base in Zaragoza. This airplane it is well know in Spain under the name of T.10 or “Dumbo” due to the elephants that appear in Ala 31’s logo.

C-130
The C-130 is a military transport plane, which allows the transport of people and merchandise, being able to carry up to one hundred people inside.
It is a turboprop and has two large wings. The nose and the fuselage make up the front part of the plane, in the lower part we find eight wheels, the landing gear. Finally, at the rear we find a large rudder and stabilizers.
In the Spanish army, the plane is painted in camouflage, since in this way it is more difficult to locate in enemy territory. This aircraft has been in use for many years and is already considered one of the most classic aircraft in history, unfortunately due to its deterioration the government plans to replace them in the near future. This plane has a few curious facts, for example, it was the first plane in history to have a landing gear with more than six wheels.

Spanish Air Force counts on a great amount of aircrafts on its entire feet. These aircrafts can be divided in rotatory wing and fixed wing, dividing this last group also into two (depending on their mission): jet figther and transport. This text aim is to describe one of the best exponents of transport missions, not only in the Spanish Air Force, but also in many armys around the world, which is the Lockheed C-130 Hercules.
This plane is characterized by its versatility, with a weight of 40t and being able to reach a high speed of 600 km/h thanks to its four turboprop engines. Apart from that, its incredibly great fuel tank allows it to make large missions without landing for restocking and to supply other planes with fuel within the mission.
This jewel of the Spanish fleet has been at the service of our country for almost 50 years, joining the Ala 31 on the latest 70s and participating in countless national and international missions.
Due to recent modernisations on its aviation system and several other improvements, its operative life has been increased, which means that this incredible plane still has great work to do for our country.
